I have problems downloading your
software from your website. In some
cases our servers could be down, or we may have
an unusual amount of traffic on our website at
the time you have attempted a download. In these
instances, all you need to do is try again at a
later time that same day. If it's over the
weekend and the server is down, wait till the
following Monday and we will have the problem
resolved. We do provide up to 6 servers to
download from. It's unlikely all 6 are down at
the same time.
In most cases, the problem
is not at our end of the connection. To resolve
issues at your end, you should do the
following: Disable any anti-virus program,
Norton Protection or similar programs. If
you are at work, you may need to approach your
IT administrator, as you may have a firewall
preventing such downloads. Contact your
Internet Service Provider. Try downloading
from another computer. Any kind of popup
blocker could also cause problems. Please
disable them while you
download.

How long does it
take to make a disk into an image file? And how
about burning an image file and copying a
disk? The above operating time depends on many
factors, such as the speed of CPU , HD and
CDROM,the size of disc, etc. Time needed varies
greatly in different situations. For example, it
took us about 15mins to 2 hours to read and
create image files in the trail of cloning an 8G
DVD movie, while 20mins to 1hour to burn the
image files.
Can DVD movies
still be played with DVD playing program after
being made into image
files? Absolutely you can. You can use the
virtual CD-ROM provided in this software, which
functions as an actual existing CD-ROM, to read
the image files and play them with some DVD
playing program.
What are the
different functions of “Ignore bad sectors” and
“RAW read” while making image
files? Ignore bad sector: skip the damaged
sectors of source discs while making image files
in order to improve efficiency and avoid
unexpected abortion caused by bad sectors. This
option is applied when the integrity of original
data is not strictly required, i.e. making movie
DVDs, audio CDs or game DVDs.
RAW read:
when you back up very important files and
require absolute precision of the original data,
be sure to select RAW read function as long as
your drive supports it (please consult the
manual of the drive you use to
confirm).
How to make a
disk into an image file? Start Game-Cloner and
insert the disc into CD-ROM. Click MakeImage
icon to enter the image-making page. Select the
source DVD and target location. Then click start to
create image files.
How to burn an
image file into a disk? Click BurnImage icon to
enter the image-burning page. Browse the image
files you want to burn and select the burner you
will use. Click start to burn. If there is no
disc in DVD-ROM or the disc is not compatible,
the DVD-ROM will eject automatically and inform
you to insert a correct disc.
How to read an
image file with a virtual drive? Method 1: First, open
windows explorer and find the created image
files from the hard disk, usually with the
extension of iso, gcd, nrg, cue. Right click
these files and select Mount GC-CDROM -->
Create device(X) in the dropdown menu. X
represents the new virtual drive that appears in
your system. With this virtual drive you can
read all data in image files.
Method
2: You can also run Game-Cloner software and
enter virtual CD-ROM section. Click
ImageFileSearch button and then search the image
files from your HD. Click CreateVirtualDrive
button and a new virtual drive appears in your
system. With this virtual drive you can also
read all data in image files.
Does
Game-Cloner support ISO format files? And how
about other formats? Yes, Game-cloner
supports ISO format files. Besides, it supports
GCD, NRG and CUE formats.
Does
Game-Cloner need the support of NTFS
system? No, NTFS format is not needed if the data
on DVD is less than 4GB . However, due to the
limited maximum capacity of FAT, NTFS system is
strongly recommended in order to get better
stability and compatibility.
Does
Game-Cloner support the copy of D9
disks? Yes, it does. But if you want to back up
a D9 disc, then you need a DVDR or DVDRW of D9
format to get enough capacity, for the capacity
of other discs (such as D5) will not be
sufficient and Game-Cloner cannot burn the data
of one disc onto two different
discs.
Does Game
Cloner back up game disks only? No. Actually, besides
game discs, Game-Cloner supports nearly all the
other discs on market, such as CD-XA (DDCD), VCD
and DVD etc. You can back up digital discs,
music CDs and movie discs with
Game-Cloner.
What kind of CD
protection does Game-Cloner
support? LaserLock , CD-COPS , DiscGuard , Star
Force , Dummy files , PS2,etc. Backing up some
protected CD needs assistant
tools.
What is the purpose of the
virtual cdrom of the Game-cloner
? The
Game-cloner program creates some extra drive
letters in your Windows Explorer. Once created,
you can treat this drive as if it was a normal
CD: You can read its data, copy data from it to
your hard drive or launch a program from
it.
I was told to
enable DMA for my IDE recorder and any IDE
CD-/DVD-ROM drive connected to my system. How is
this done under Windows? Enable DMA for any
CD-/DVD-drive. For Windows 95/98/ME: Go to
your 'Control Panel --> System --> Device
Manager --> CD-ROM' and under your drives
'Properties --> Settings' enable DMA for your
devices.(Game-cloner do not support Windows
95/98/ME)
For Windows 2000/XP: Go to your
'Control Panel --> Systems --> Hardware
--> Device Manager' and double-click on the
'IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers'. Right-click on the
'Primary IDE Channel' and go to 'Properties
--> Advanced Settings'. Change 'Transfer
Mode' to 'DMA if available'. Do the same for
the secondary IDE channel.
Can I copy DVDs
with Game-cloner? Game-cloner is able to
copy DVDs which are not copy protected and which
are 4.4 GB in size, such as is supported by
DVD-R or DVD-RW media.
